A: At Tibet Art Store, cultural respect begins with artisan autonomy. Here’s how we practice it:

Design Freedom

We never impose external designs. Artisans create pieces rooted in their heritage, whether it’s a thangka painter choosing sacred motifs or a silversmith replicating ancestral patterns. “Our role is to amplify their voices, not dictate them.”

Pricing with Dignity

Artisans set base prices using a “Fair Trade Premium” model:

Transparent breakdowns shared per product (e.g., “60% to artisan, 20% materials, 20% logistics”).

10-30% above local market rates (adjusted for complexity; e.g., a 5-month thangka vs. a 2-week wool scarf).

We’d be delighted to share more about the artisans behind these pieces—with their consent, of course.
In the meantime, we’ll do our best to showcase glimpses of their daily lives and craft through our social media. Stay tuned, as we’ll gradually update our website with the stories of these talented artists and their work.
